Coach Kail

I am a collegiate soccer player and biology major at Maryville University of Saint Louis. As a freshman, I played on the University of Illinois Springfield Men’s soccer team and am transferring to Maryville as a sophomore. Prior to college, I attended Pendleton Heights High School where I was a 4 year varsity letter and 2 year captain on the Men’s soccer team. In highschool I was an all-state player my senior year, 3x all conference, and 2x Herald Bulletin Soccer Player of the Year. In addition to high school soccer, I was a member of the 04 Elite I team at Indy Premier Soccer Club. During my time at Indy Premier I was a state champion in 2021 and state runner up in 2022. I truly have a passion for soccer and the developmental process that goes with it. I am very thankful to have had lots of great mentors and coaches in my years of youth soccer. These coaches have provided me with the tools to develop young players and teach them what it takes to play in the collegiate game. Navigating the college recruiting process is undoubtedly a challenging process but I am here to provide young players with the knowledge and skills it takes to reach that level.

Training Philosophy

During my many years of training, I have narrowed down the best and most effective drills for developing players of all levels. This process has been one of trial and error. I have spent more time than I care to admit trying to take the easy way out with my training. But the hard truth is – there is NO easy way out. The only way to improve your skills is to spend hours doing the basics and simple things. This is the very same attitude I carry with me when developing young players aspiring to take their game to the next level. I provide a training perspective centered around speed + agility, ball mastery, comfortability when passing and receiving the ball, and physical fitness + strength. In addition to this, I preach the importance of being confident when playing and being a good teammate/leader for your team.
